Feeding Fireflies Fertile Ruins came about as a meditation on cycles of life and death, and trauma, resilience and fecundity. These fossilized glass fragments hover between states of matter, in a mythos of collapsed time. They are an ode to the reenchanting capacity of the firefly.
Suspended in them are a polyphony of animacies. The alivenesses of wax, clay, silicone, plaster, gravity, time, flesh, and heat all acted out their differing and various natures pressed up against - melting with - one another - their stories shape ultimately crystillazed through partial a fusing of glass, leaving them pourous.
They murmmur of the strength in leakage and hold nothing that is not theirs to hold.
Their surfaces mesmerize.
Shimmering with haptic narratives of possibility found in the pregnant fullness of the dark between the flickers of light.
